18-YEAR-OLD FACTION CHEW UP AND SPIT OUT ELDERS If it's bad karma you're looking for the Pinoy Dream (Nightmare) Academy has it. It what was sold to the public as being a talent development show has turned out to be a soap opera whereas a strong 18-year-old faction developed and for the most part set themselves as rivals against the older contestants in a communal environment house? The results are the backstabbing 18-year-olds have chewed up and spit out several of their elders resulting in two having mental problems and quitting the show due to stress. Another Chivas was hospitalized and then expelled for stress reasons that resulted in repeated hyper ventilating attacks. In doing so he left Bunny his wife of five years behind to continue her quest to progress in the contest. The count now reads of the 12 remaining contestants six are from the 18-year-old clique and six from the over 18's who are not a clique but more mature and go on with their business at hand. The so called mentors of the show (aka) teachers are also guilty of favoritism and making caustic remarks about some of the students. They continue to champion Inaki 18 about how well he performs after he gyrates around the stage with some sort of unworthy confidence. The reality is that he has the WORST VOICE of all the competitors on the show from the beginning when there were 16 contestants. If he performed with a ball spinning on his nose the bottom line is he CAN'T SING. Inaki appears to be the gang leader of the backstabbing 18-year-olds whose primary followers are Apple, Bea and Miguel who is more level headed but strongly influenced by his girlfriend Bea. Inaki prides himself as being a leader. His strength appears to be that he is from a privileged family who know people in high places. Based on his lack of talent and deceit he should be expelled from the competition. This past week the contestants were paired to sing in harmony. They were judged as a duo by the judges but the mentor/teachers in a back room watching the show on a TV monitor graded them individually with a GPA. With all six of the 18-year-old contestants remaining in the competition here's where the bad karma comes into play. Inaki's closest confidant Bea 18, who has been one of the bottom four competitors every week but saved by her housemates is now up against her real life boyfriend Miguel 18 for elimination to be determined by the viewing public who can vote via SMS or Internet. If the results are based on talent this will be Bea's last week on the show. From the beginning of the competition she has one of the weakest voices and has been getting by her good looks, her relationship with Miguel and her powerful association with the 18-year-old backstabbing students. Her relationship with Miguel is appealing to the producers of the program since Philippine TV programs enjoy feasting on controversy while forsaking integrity. On all of their talk and variety shows they usually ask a guest or performer, 'How's your love life?' (Ohhh please!!!!) Miguel 18, has the best voice in the competition but having been paired with Bea to sing as a duo the past week they received the lowest GPA 5.06 and both were placed on probation meaning one will be eliminated by the voting public and their relationship will be on hold until whomever survives being eliminated is either eliminated or reach the finals and the show is over. Our opinion is that Bea 18, has a bad scheming, obstinate attitude which compounds her negative situation. Though voters have a tendency to make popularity votes more so than voting for talent Miguel should remain in the competition and Bea is most likely to be eliminated. Since their poor performance and low GPA their relationship is strained and they haven't been speaking to each other as well as Bea is now talking to the other girls in the house about what boys she personally likes in the house and that includes Inaki. If it's a soap opera you're looking for this is it. When the students voted to save another student after the mentors saved one (Chris), of the nine students who voted Apple 18, was the only one to vote to save Bea. Inaki 18, and Bunny 22, voted to save Miguel and six Van 18, Bugoy 18, Liezel 23, Laarni 23, Chris 21 (who could vote after being saved by the mentors) and Christian 25 voted to save Sen (HanSEN) 25. Van the most mature of the 18-year-olds and Sen have been good friends from the beginning if the season. Sen by a large margin is not as skilled a vocalist as Miguel. Sen earns a lot of respect from the others since he's a cancer survivor and the most mature and level headed of all the contestants. His maturity shows when there is a problem he works to find a solution. With all of the problems there has been in the house he has made a lot of friends by being a peace maker and problem solver. Inaki's vote for Miguel was a tough decision since he's also Bea's friend. They with Apple are the top three instigators of the 18-year-old clique. With the elimination of either Bea or Miguel the 18-year-old faction will lose power and harmony should be more evident in the house. The greatest songwriters and recording artists in the history of music the Beatles wrote largely about peace and love and did it singing great harmony. Yes harmony… isn't that what great music is all about? It's certainly not about deceit and backstabbing. Perhaps in the process before the DA show is over the students can learn that lesson and sing and express in their actions and behavior, peace, love and HARMONY. As Beatle Ringo Starr wrote and sang, "I Get by with A Little Help from My Friends." PREVIOUS DREAM ACADEMY 2008 STORIES TV

In order to solve these problems you have to start with the family but sometimes they don't understand. That's where we come in. It's not going to solve the problems of the world but at least we started something. We teach being a good teen at home by being a good son or daughter. At school (we teach) being a good student, in society to be a good friend. This is the concept we teach."
