SCOLARI GIVEN POISON PILL rocketed to 3rd after missing the list last month. - In a surprise entry our Sports Notes column from January 2006 SEA Games $#!T Hits The Fan leaped into the 8th spot. That column pretty much describes the sorry state of Cambodian football with the focus being what effect gambling has on the game in Southeast Asia. It was at that time several Vietnamese players were arrested for fixing football matches.

Sports Notes - DAVID BECKHAM'S DILEMMA - March, 2009
IS IT DO OR DIE? When Beckham agreed to a reported five year $250 million deal with the LA Galaxy of the MLS the football world almost came to a stop and wondered why he would do that as he was jeopardizing his career and reputation as a serious football player. It was pointed out by many football pundits that his decision was a mistake. We opined that Beckham had gone Hollyweird for the glitz and glamour of the phony plastic scene in the land of Angels and movie stars.

There needs to be a club salary cap. Eleven years ago I asked former Italy International then the MLS's New England Revolution keeper Walter Zenga who had the strongest football league in Europe. He replied it changes based on who spends the most money to acquire talent. Fast forward to today and Zenga's words have become even more astute. The Man City acquisition of Robinho has not proved to be their saving grace since the club lacks quality and Robinho needs help. After 16 games the side has only 18 points only 3 above the relegation zone. The bottom line is a solution. Part 2 - SEEK & YOU SHALL FIND - Entertainment - TV

How hypocritical can the statement be, 'The Beautiful Game'? We're talking football here as well as the games lack of ethics.
